Annual Meeting of Parishioners and Annual Parochial Church Meetings

Each Parish holds an annual meeting before the end of May each year, which is split into 2 parts:
1. the Annual Meeting of Parishioners which is held to elect Church Wardens for the coming year
2. the Annual Parochial Church Meeting which includes elections for deanery synod representatives, parochial church council members, and to appoint the independent examiner or auditor. In addition there is consideration of the following:
(a) a report on changes to the electoral roll since the last annual parochial church meeting
(b) an Annual Report on the proceedings of the parochial church council and the activities of the parish generally;
(c) the financial statements of the council for the year ending on the 31st December preceding the meeting;
(d) the annual report under section 50 of the Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction and Care of Churches Measure 2018;
(e) a report of the proceedings of the deanery synod; and
(f) other matters of parochial or general Church interest.

These meetings may be attended by:
1. the persons whose names are entered on the church electoral roll of the parish
2. the persons resident in the parish whose names are entered on a register of local government electors by reason of such residence.
We would welcome you to come along.

If you would like to be on a church’s electoral roll, please do speak to one of the church wardens who can explain the criteria and will give you a form to complete.
