Christingle Service West Newton 4th December

The Christingle service was held on the 4th December in West Newton church. At the service each child was given a Christingle, a decorated orange with a candle on the top, signifying that we believe Jesus Christ is the light of the world. When the Christingles have been lit, the children form a loop round the church and we turn out the lights in the church and sing Away in a Manger. The candles shine brightly in the darkness. Over 70 Christingles were made and distributed and tea and cake was served by the Sunday School parents.
